BOŠTJAN SOKLIČ SONGS FROM SOKOSTAN

Pesmi iz Sokostana je samostojni album Boštjana Sokliča, kitarista in vokalista slovenske akustične skupine Tantadruj, znane po povezovanju različnih glasbenih stilov. Songi so nastajali vzporedno s Sokličevimi uglasbitvami (po večini) klasične slovenske poezije za skupino Tantadruj. Vsebinsko je projekt zamišljen kot niz razpoloženjskih, nadrealistično obarvanih songov s potepuškim nadihom. Naslov izhaja iz avtorjevega vzdevka (Soko) in besede stan (sthan), ki v jezikih centralne Azije pomeni deželo ali neko področje. Sokostan je prispodoba avtorjevega notranjega sveta, v katerem nastajajo teksti in muzika. Zvočna celota je bila posneta pred par leti, zmiksana pa letos. Pri projektu so sodelovali različni glasbeniki. Aranžmaje pesmi sta dorekla Soklič in vsestranski umetnik Vid Sark, ki je za potrebe snemanja odigral več instrumentov ter tudi likovno opremil ovitek.

»Songs from Sokostan« is a solo album by Boštjan Soklič, composer and lead member of the Slovenian acoustic group Tantadruj, known for connecting different musical styles (folk, blues, rock) in musical interpretations of classical Slovene poetry. Songs from Sokostan was produced in collaboration with a multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Vid Sark, who also provided the cover picture.
The impressive set of songs is imagined as a series of moody, surrealist-flavored trips. The Album title is a combination of two words, »Soko«, which is the author's nickname and »stan«, which means country in central and east Asian languages. In fact, Sokostan is a metaphor for the author’s inner world, presented through lyrics and sounds.
